What is a portable hand wash station?
A portable hand wash station is a free-standing sink with two basins, two foot pumps, a fresh-water tank, a gray-water tank, soap dispensers and a paper towel holder. The hand wash station needs no hose or power. Two people can wash at the same time, which keeps lines short at food events.
Hand wash stations sit beside porta potties, food tents, petting zoos and jobsite break areas. On construction sites, OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(f) requires washing facilities where workers handle harmful materials like paint, coatings or concrete. See our OSHA jobsite guide for details.

How many hand wash stations do I need?
Plan 1 hand wash station for every 2 toilets at any event serving food. Plan 1 station for every 3 toilets on a construction site. A 4-toilet wedding with dinner needs 2 stations. A jobsite with 6 toilets needs 2 stations.
Good fit
- Weddings, picnics and anything with food
- Jobsites with painting, concrete or coatings
- Farm events, petting zoos, fairs
- Food truck rallies
Wrong fit
- A single-toilet party where a deluxe unit with a sink inside would cost less
- Freezing nights without antifreeze-safe planning – stations can freeze in January
How much does a hand wash station cost to rent?
A hand wash station starts at $149 for a weekend event in Allentown, or $99 per 28-day cycle when added to a jobsite toilet order. The price includes water, soap and towels. Delivery is shared with any toilets on the same order, and 6% PA sales tax is added.
See the full breakdown in the price guide.
Where should the hand wash station go?
Place the hand wash station right beside the toilets, between the toilets and the food. Guests wash when the sink is on their way back. Set the station on level ground so the foot pumps work and the tank does not tip.
How often is a hand wash station refilled?
A jobsite hand wash station is refilled at every weekly service: fresh water, soap and towels in, gray water pumped out. Event stations arrive full and hold enough for about 250 to 300 washes, which covers most one-day events.
Hand wash station or deluxe unit with a sink inside?
A hand wash station serves several toilets from one spot, while a deluxe unit's sink serves only the person inside. Use stations when you have 2 or more toilets or a food line. Use a deluxe unit when you rent a single restroom and want everything in one footprint.

Hand wash station questions
Does a hand wash station need a water hookup?
A hand wash station holds its own fresh water. No hose or power is needed. We fill it at the yard and pump the gray water at pickup or service.
Where does the dirty water go?
Used water drains into a sealed tank in the base of the station. The tank is pumped at service or pickup. Nothing drains onto your yard.
Can I rent a hand wash station without a porta potty?
Stations rent on their own for food events, school fairs and jobsite break areas. Delivery is quoted the same way as a toilet.
Will the hand wash station run out of water?
A full station gives about 250 to 300 washes. For larger crowds, add a second station or book a refill visit.
Do the stations have soap and paper towels?
Each station has two soap dispensers and a paper towel holder, filled before delivery and refilled at every service.
Can a hand wash station freeze?
In Lehigh Valley winters the water can freeze overnight. For winter jobsites, ask about sanitizer stands instead, or keep the station in a heated area.
Add hand washing to your order
