How many porta potties does a construction site need?

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(c), Table D-1, requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers for 20 or more, and 1 seat and 1 urinal per 50 workers for 200 or more. Our weekly-service recommendation is 1 standard unit per 10 workers.

Why do we recommend more toilets than OSHA requires?

A standard unit holds about 200 uses between services. A crew of 10 working 5 days fills one unit in a week. At OSHA's minimum of 1 toilet for 20 workers, the tank would be full by Wednesday. More units, or twice-weekly service, keeps the toilet usable all week.

How does construction porta potty billing work?

Construction porta potty rentals bill every 28 days, not by calendar month. The 28-day price is the same whether the unit stays 1 day or 28 days. Weekly service is included. Delivery and pickup are a one-time fee on the first cycle, so later cycles cost less than the first.

  • The rental renews every 28 days until you call for pickup.
  • Call at least one business day before you want it gone.
  • Need it for one week only? Ask about our short-term weekly rate.

What does weekly jobsite service include?

Weekly jobsite service includes pumping the waste tank, scrubbing the seat, urinal, walls and floor, adding fresh blue deodorizer, refilling hand sanitizer, and restocking toilet paper. The technician also checks the door, latch and vent and moves the unit back to level if it has shifted.

Service day is fixed to your route, so the tech shows up the same weekday each week. Locked gate? Text us the code or leave the unit outside the gate on service day.

Where should the jobsite porta potty go?

Put the jobsite porta potty on level ground near the work, at least 10 feet from excavations, and where the service truck can pull within about 15 feet on service day. Keep it off finished concrete that will be poured around, and away from crane swing paths.

  • Stake or strap units on windy, open lots.
  • Move it as the job moves – tell us and the tech resets it.
  • For multi-site crews, ask about towable unit trailers.

Do you handle remodels and small contractor jobs?

Small contractors, roofers and remodelers rent single units every day. One standard unit with weekly service covers a crew of up to 10 on a house job. Homeowners often rent the unit themselves so crews stay out of the house. See our home remodel porta potty page.

Can my company get an account?

Contractors with repeat jobs can set up an account with one card on file for every jobsite. Each jobsite gets its own invoice and service schedule, so you can bill it back to the right project. Call the yard to set up your account.

Construction porta potty questions

How much is a construction porta potty per month?

A standard construction unit starts at $199 per 28-day cycle with weekly service, plus a one-time $75 delivery and pickup fee for Lehigh Valley jobsites. Tax is 6%, shown on the quote. The price guide shows every line.

Is weekly cleaning included in the monthly price?

Weekly service is included in every 28-day jobsite rate. A second weekly visit can be added for big crews or 6-day weeks.

Do you pick up the porta potty automatically when the job ends?

Jobsite rentals keep renewing until you call. Call at least one business day before you want it picked up so the unit leaves before the next 28-day cycle starts.

Can I get service twice a week?

Twice-weekly service is available for crews over 10 workers or heavy-use sites. It is added as a flat amount per 28-day cycle.

Do you put a toilet on a high-rise floor?

Units can be lifted by your crane or hoist with a lifting frame. Tell us on the call and we'll deliver to the ground spot your crane crew picks.

Do you need someone on site for delivery?

Nobody needs to meet the driver. Mark the spot, open the gate or text the code, and the driver sets the unit where you marked.
