When will the porta potty arrive for a Saturday party?
A porta potty for a Saturday party arrives Thursday or Friday and is picked up Monday. The extra days cost nothing. Our trucks do not run on Sunday, so the Monday pickup is part of every weekend price. Weekday events get delivery the business day before.
How many porta potties do I need for my party?
One standard porta potty covers about 50 guests for a party of up to 4 hours. Use 1 per 40 guests for 5 to 8 hours. Add 1 unit for every 4 when alcohol is served. A 100-guest graduation party lasting 6 hours with beer needs 3 units plus 1 extra, so 4.
| Guests | Up to 4 hours | 5–8 hours | 5–8 hours + alcohol |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| 50 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| 75 | 2 | 2 | 3 |
| 100 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| 150 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
| 200 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
What kinds of events do you serve?
Alan Rental Works delivers porta potties to graduation parties, church picnics and vacation Bible school, family reunions, block parties, birthday parties, baby showers, pool parties, car shows, 5K races and park pavilion events across the Lehigh Valley. Each event gets the same washed, stocked event units.
Graduation parties
Usually 1–2 standard units plus a hand wash station for food. Book May and June weekends early.
Church & community events
Pair an accessible unit with standard units for public guests. Concrete pads by the hall work well.
Family reunions
Park pavilions rarely have enough restrooms. Check your park permit, then call us.
Block parties
Get the street permit first. Units go on the curb lane or a driveway, never the sidewalk.
Pool & backyard parties
Keeps wet feet and kids out of the house. One unit covers 15–40 guests.
5Ks, car shows, fundraisers
Clusters near the start line or parking. Add hand washing for food vendors.
Do I need a permit for a porta potty at a park or street event?
A porta potty on your own lawn or driveway needs no permit in Allentown. A unit on a city street, sidewalk or park lawn may need the park or street permit your event already uses. Ask the city office that issued your event permit whether restroom placement must be listed.
Allentown street obstructions fall under the city's temporary obstruction rules. See the Allentown porta potty permit rules or your city's page under service areas.
Should I add a hand wash station or a deluxe unit?
Add a hand wash station whenever food is served: 1 station per 2 toilets. A single deluxe flushing unit with a sink inside can replace a standard unit plus a station for small parties. For 3 or more toilets, shared stations cost less.
Compare the deluxe unit and hand wash stations.
Party and event porta potty questions
Can you deliver the morning of my event instead?
Event-morning delivery can't be promised, because routes are built by location, not by time. Delivery the business day before is the safe choice and costs nothing extra.
Do I pay more because it sits there Friday to Monday?
The weekend price already includes Thursday or Friday delivery and Monday pickup. You do not pay per day.
Is one porta potty enough for 40 people?
For a party of up to 4 hours, one standard unit covers 40 guests. For a longer party with drinks, rent two.
Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?
Nobody has to be home. Mark the spot, leave the gate open, and the driver handles the rest.
What if it rains and we cancel?
Cancelling 24+ business hours ahead of delivery gets your money back in full. After the unit is delivered, the rental is non-refundable, but we can talk through a new date.
Can I keep guests from using the bathrooms in my house?
That's the most common reason hosts rent one. Put the unit near the yard entrance so guests see it first, and add a sign by the back door.
